Address: 100 College Drive, Box 5002, North Bay, ON, Canada P1B 8L7
Website: http://www.nipissingu.ca/psychology/

School Description:

Nipissing’s Psychology degree program is flexible and rewarding.  Students can choose a more flexible, social science-oriented program in Psychology, or select a more structured, scientific and research-focused BSc program.

Either way, students will benefit from an extensive list of psychology courses to choose from, many involving laboratory or practicum components. Our small class sizes work to our student’s advantage. From the very start of your Nipissing experience, you will have the opportunity to study and work on research projects with award-winning professors.

Students learn valuable experimental psychology skills in research methodology, including data analysis, statistics and psychological measurement. Our psychology courses address topics such as motivation and emotion, personality disorders, clinical assessment, controversies in intelligence testing, developmental psychology, job satisfaction, psychological approaches to the creative arts and neuroanatomy.

Our psychology degree programs also provide the necessary foundation in basic psychological processes for later specialization in applied or clinical psychology.

Nipissing University is continually ranked with A grades for:

  • Quality of Teaching
  • Campus Atmosphere
  • Class Size (A+)
  • Student Residences
  • Academic Support Services
(According to Globe and Mail – GlobeCampus)

Don’t take it from us; here’s what students say:

  • “The best thing … is being able to see your professors outside the classroom and they greet you on a first-name basis. There is nothing better than being able to talk to your professor like they are a friend.”
  • “There is a large focus on research at the undergraduate level which does not always happen at larger universities. This gives Nipissing science students a path to further education and graduate schools.”
  • “It is in a very scenic, northern setting. There are many trails on campus and a pond and waterfall to relax by to relieve stress and just think.”
  • “The residences here are amazing with excellent dons and managers and activities. The residences are new and have amazing laundry, phone and kitchen facilities.”
  • “Recreational and athletic programs offer a wide variety, lots of activities to sign up for, appropriate for all levels of skill.”
